We are writing on behalf of the Warwick Ecumenical Food Pantry to express our gratitude and thanks.
Recently, the four Warwick Valley public schools – High School, Middle School, Sanfordville and Park Avenue – sponsored a food drive. Students, teachers and staff collected and delivered in excess of 150 bags of canned and boxed groceries, as well as personal care and household cleaning items, for the benefit of the pantry and our less fortunate neighbors.
As long-serving volunteers at the pantry, we see first hand the effects of food insecurity, and the hunger and distress that follow. We are two among approximately 55 active volunteers who do what we can in support of the pantry’s mission to help alleviate hunger in the Town of Warwick. To accomplish that, we rely upon the generosity of the community to help us keep the shelves well stocked. Warwick’s public schools are four among many organizations, in addition to so very many individuals in the community, whose generosity provides so well for the pantry.
We are grateful and give thanks for all of the food that arrived at our doorstep recently from the public schools. We also are grateful to parents and teachers who strive to instill in our children an understanding of the importance and satisfaction of sharing with others some of what they have.
Thank you for all of the above!
