The Orange County Citizens Foundation recently held its 10th Annual Placemaking Conference, recognizing community organizations for placemaking excellence in that community. Among the award recipients is the 3 Pines Place at the Warwick Valley Community Center. The recipients were honored for their contribution to improving the community by creating or transforming public places using placemaking concepts and practices.
The 3 Pines Nature Place is a unique, quiet place to enjoy nature. Attractive to all generations, it serves as a “pocket park” and natural meeting place for Warwick residents. Using universal design principles, 3 Pines Nature Place is built on the grounds of the Community Center, next to a community garden and orchard, adding an outdoor, nature dimension to these amenities.
