The Warwick Ecumenical Food Pantry has concluded sign-up for its 2017 Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Basket Program to benefit hungry families. Through the generosity of the community, the program provides all the makings of a Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. The pantry anticipates providing approximately 500 holiday baskets to hungry families this year.
The pantry now needs additional members of the community to step up and help us to provide baskets to those families who have requested them. Opportunities to “adopt” families remain available for both holidays, but the need for Christmas baskets is especially acute.
Members of the community who wish to help may do so best by providing a basket for either or both of the holidays, with opportunities available from single person senior households to large multi-generational families. Community members also may volunteer on distribution days (Tues., Nov. 21 and Thurs., Dec. 21).
Expressions of interest may be made by calling 986-8368 or sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. The pantry is always pleased to receive monetary donations to help support its mission. Monetary donations may be delivered or mailed to the Warwick United Methodist Church, 135 Forester Ave., Warwick NY 10990, Attn: Holiday Food Basket Program or made by credit or debit card at www.warwickpantry.com.
