The Warwick Ecumenical Food Pantry has concluded sign-up for its 2016 Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Basket Program to benefit hungry families and anticipates providing approximately 500 holiday baskets to hungry families this year. The pantry now needs additional members of the community to step up and help provide baskets to those families who have requested them. Opportunities to “adopt” families remain available for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but the need for Christmas baskets is especially acute.
Those who wish to help may do so best by providing a basket for either or both holidays. Community members may also volunteer on distribution days (Tues., Nov. 22 and Thurs., Dec. 22). Anyone interested in “adopting” a family for either holiday can call 986-8368 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. The pantry is also happy to receive monetary donations to help support the program. Monetary donations may be delivered or mailed to Warwick United Methodist Church, 135 Forester Ave., Warwick NY 10990, ATTN: Holiday Food Basket Program, or made by credit or debit card at www.warwickpantry.org.
