If anyone has ever wondered about the love between a human and their pet, witness it firsthand at the Sugar Loaf United Methodist Church’s annual Blessings of the Animals that will be held on Sat., Oct. 13 from 3 to 4 p.m. The blessing will be held at the church, located at 1387 Kings Hwy. in the hamlet of Sugar Loaf NY.
There will be a short service, followed by refreshments for the two-legged and four-legged guests. Each pet will receive an individual blessing and a certificate. The Warwick Valley Humane Society will be on hand with some of the animals available for adoption. Cleaning supplies (paper towels, paper plates, dish detergent, bleach, Science Diet dry adult dog and cat food, large dog biscuits, ceramic cat dishes, cap nip, cat beds and medical supplies (Hydrogen Peroxide, alcohol, cotton balls and Q-tips) are the donations requested as admission to attend the event. Donated items and any proceeds will go to supporting this wonderful organization.
All dogs must be on a leash and any other pets must be caged. All faiths are welcome to the event, as are all pets. For more information call 469-8605.
