ChiFood Bistro, a fusion restaurant and food studio, celebrated their grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Mon., Oct. 29 in the historic Warwick Valley Dispatch building, located at 2 Oakland Ave. in Warwick NY.
The ChiFood Bistro menu currently explores traditional Asian street food such as Dim Sum dumplings, braised pork belly Bao buns, and a savory egg crepe known as the Jian Bing. They try hard to source their produce from local farms to support the agricultural economy. The business offers unique catering services and experiences, as well as food tasting events. Indoor seating is available.
They recently launched a “Guess The Weight” of two pumpkins, their first annual contest fundraiser that began during the Warwick Applefest and ended on Sun., Oct. 28. The business matched each $1 ticket with additional donations to the Warwick Humane Society for their community service initiative.
The two pumpkins, 115 and 81 pounds respectfully, are from Dagele Brothers Farm. The winner was Wendy Thomas from Sparta, NJ, a lifelong supporter of animal shelters, sanctuaries and causes. She pledged an additional $20 donation to the society.
