St. Benedict Tours hosted a Christmas Luncheon Reunion for their pilgrims in Warwick on Sat., Dec. 15. The festivities began with a concelebrated Mass offered by Fr. Glenn Sudano, CFR., and Fr. Joseph Emmanuel, in St. Stephen, The First Martyr Catholic Church. Michael Corsini, a well-known, spiritual musician, provided the music for the liturgy.
Following holy mass, the pilgrims were treated to a delicious luncheon in a private room at the Warwick Inn. Attendees reminisced about their spiritual experiences in Medjugorje and renewed friendships. Corsini added to the festive mood as he led the pilgrims in Christmas caroling.
Pilgrims throughout the world are typically involved in their own, unique search for inner peace. Retreat destinations like Medjugorje are high on their list. For each pilgrim, the spiritual need to come to Medjugorje is uniquely different and it seems that each one returns home in some way spiritually changed.
In 1981 the Blessed Virgin Mother appeared to six Croatian children in the small village of Medjugorje. These alleged apparitions of the Blessed Mother, affectionately referred to by the children as Gospa (or “Lady” in Croatian), have continued to this day. On two occasions
Our Lady told the children, “Peace must reign between God and man, and between all people!” Our Lady’s message is that peace is the greatest good and through faith, conversion, prayer, and fasting, we can all attain it. Since then, tens of thousands of pilgrims have come to Medugorje seeking grace, life direction, peace, conversion, and ultimately to find God.
The mission of St. Benedict Tours (www.stbenedicttours.com) is to help pilgrims answer the universal call to holiness by providing spiritual pilgrimages to holy places. St. Benedict Tours is planning another pilgrimage/retreat to Medjugorje from Apr. 26 to May 6. Fr. Sudano, CFR., will be the spiritual director. He will be offering Retreat Conferences during the pilgrimage.
Also, St. Benedict Tours is planning a pilgrimage to Krakow, Poland from Jun. 14 to Jun. 25. The pilgrims will visit sacred shrines in Krakow and will participate in the Corpus Christi celebration in Poland. Fr. Mariusz Koch, CFR. and Fr. Glenn Sudano, CFR. will be the spiritual guides during the pilgrimage.
