The Richard Jacob Rudy Memorial Fund with host “Colors 4 A Cure,” a 5K Run/Walk Fundraiser, on Sat., Oct. 15. All proceeds will benefit the RJR Memorial Fund, a 501c3 non-profit organization, whom will in turn donate to local families and individuals being affected by cancer.
At the “Colors 4 a Cure” 5K Color Run & Walk enjoy bright throws of color, fun music, friendly competition, awards and the fellowship of runners and walkers, as well as family and friends who have all been affected by cancer in some way. The 5K will start and end at Apple Ridge Orchard on 101 Jessup Rd. in Warwick.
Online registration is open through Wed., Oct. 12 at www.active.com. Registration will be available on race day. The cost is $25 per participant. Come out as an individual runner, walker or join a team. Wear the color of cancer awareness of your choice or wear white to get colored with powder.
The Richard Jacob Rudy Memorial Fund is a non-profit organization, based in Warwick and was established in memory of Richard by his family. Their mission is to assist local families in need; many of them face illness, loss, and financial hardships. The RJR Fund donates annually to the BOCES CTE Scholarship Fund and awards scholarships to graduating students of the technical program. Their scholarships have been awarded to graduates of the automotive technology and vehicle maintenance programs in honor of Richie’s love for cars.
