At their recent January board meeting, the Board of Advisors for Warwick’s Friendly Visitor Program (FVP) welcomed Marie Luca in her new role as Coordinator. Luca served as an active volunteer during the early months of the program’s operation. She is a retired educator who has excellent organizational skills and an interest in giving back to her community.
Luca will continue to attend the monthly FVP Board meeting in her new capacity as Coordinator. She is receiving training for her new role from Jewish Family Service as part of the partnership that exists with the Town of Warwick, Jewish Family Service, and the Office for the Aging. In time, Luca will network with all the volunteers as well as with those individuals receiving the services that the program offers.
New volunteers are welcome. For more information or to volunteer, call the Warwick Town Hall at 986-1124, ext. 400. The program will offer their next volunteer training sessions on Mon., Mar. 5 and Mon., May 7 at the Albert Wisner Public Library, located at 1 McFarland Dr. in Warwick.
