Celebrate Earth Day with ‘Too Good to Toss’ & Treecycle
An Earth Day Festival will be held on Sat., Apr. 21 and Sun., Apr. 22 at Stanley-Deming Park, located off of South St. in the Warwick NY.
Sustainable Warwick will sponsor “Too Good To Toss” as part of the weekend events. The community may drop off clean items, in good repair, on the basketball court at Stanley-Deming on Sat., Apr. 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For a complete list of acceptable items, visit http://sustainablewarwick.org/too-good-to-toss-acceptable-items. The public is then invited to “shop” donated items for free on Sun., Apr. 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Also on Sun., Apr. 22, Wickham Works will host the third-annual Treecyle. The public is invited to work with local guest artists to create tree sculptures using “art supplies” salvaged from the waste stream. Visitors can also shop for up-cycled goods from local makers while learning practical ways to protect the earth.
There will be an illuminated sculpture forest walk at 7 p.m. The suggested donation is $5 for adults and children are free. For more information, visit www.wickhamworks.org.
