The Florida Public Library’s annual budget vote and trustee election will be held on Thurs., Apr. 5 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the Library, which is located at 4 Cohen Cir. in Florida NY. The Library is a school district public library, sharing the same geographical boundaries as the Florida Union Free School District.
Included on the ballot will be the proposition for the library’s operating budget and the election of three trustees for terms commencing Jul. 1. The position of library trustee is a volunteer, three-year term. The open seats are those of incumbents Alfred Beers, Lee Maas, and Ronald Kamrowski.
The 2018-2019 proposed tax levy for voters’ approval is $459,140 which represents an increase of $15,200 over the current year. Copies of the budget are available in the Library and a special information meeting on the budget will be held on Mon., Mar. 5 at 7:30 p.m.
