A fundraiser for the ninth season of the Hudson Valley Jazz Festival will be held on Sun., May 6 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Warwick Center for The Performing Arts, located at 63 Wheeler Ave. in Warwick.
Two one-hour performances will be offered. The performances will feature many musicians from past festivals along with new performers lined up for the festival. Performers so far include: Khalif Bobatoon, John Arbo, Joe Vincent Tranchina, Robert Kopec, Gabriele Tranchina, Rick Savage, Steve Rubin, Dave Smith, Bob Rosen, Lydia Pidlusky, Neil Alexander, Bob Meyer, and Richard Kimball. Money raised from this event will go toward adding additional shows, enhancing musician’s pay and creating new shows.
The festival, which is set for Thurs., Aug. 9 to Sun., Aug. 12, has been covered by the Warwick Valley Dispatch. It is a celebration of the distinctive American musical art form of jazz, highlighting the region’s deep resource of talent.
The suggested donation is $20 the day of the show, with CD’s and materials on the artists available.
