Schervier Pavilion and Mount Alverno Center residents gathered outdoors on Sat., Sept. 9 to enjoy the annual Grandparents’ Day. A Hawaiian Luau themed picnic featured colorful centerpieces, everyone wearing Hawaiian shirts and Leis, music, and dancing.
Almost all of the guests, staff members and residents wore the traditional colorful neckpieces or Leis. But more important, it was an opportunity for generations of families to visit their loved ones and enjoy a traditional end-of-summer celebration.
The staff prepared lots of barbecue favorites and families and residents enjoyed a fun afternoon. There were games for the children along with popcorn and prizes, all free of charge. Thanks to the talent and efforts of staff, the musical entertainment by DJ Octavius and hula dancing was a big hit.
