The Pine Island Chamber of Commerce will host and sponsor Pumpkinfest on Columbus Day, Mon., Oct. 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Pine Island Town park, located on Kay Rd. in Pine Island.. The family friendly event will offer a fun-filled afternoon of activities and the cost is $5 for participating children.
Pumpkinfest is a great way to celebrate the local harvest of pumpkins and spend the day outdoors enjoying the warm sunshine and crisp fall air. The day features pumpkin painting, face and henna painting, crafts, a children’s bouncy house, games, a State Trooper, touch-a-tractor, local dance groups, the Orange County Sports Club, Karate Quest, Shoprite, Hudson Highlands Nature Museum, Greenwood Lake Rock Underground, entertainment, other organizations and numerous other activities.
Attendees can enjoy food from various vendors and ice cream from Dairy O. The event is held at the pavilion and fields of Pine Island Town Park where guests may also visit the park’s Butterfly Garden and playground area.

The Annual Pine Island Pumpkinfest Princess Pageant will also be held. The chosen princess should be bubbly, outgoing and willing to mingle and greet children at the event. To enter, email the child’s name, address and phone number to email@example.com or call 258-7008. Contestants must be from the Town of Warwick and between six and 10 years old. The Pumpkinfest Committee will randomly draw the names of the five finalists one week prior to Pumpkinfest. Parents of the five girls will be contacted by email. Finalists need to be at Pumpkinfest where we will draw the fourth, third, second and first runner up, and, then, the name of the 2018 Pumpkinfest Princess.
