Due to the possibility of rain, the Pine Island Chamber of Commerce will host and sponsor Pumpkinfest on Mon., Oct. 9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the barn and tent next to the Pavilion at the Pine Island Park, located on Kay Rd. The cost for participating children is $5 per child.
Pumpkinfest is a great way to celebrate the local harvest of pumpkins, and spend the day outdoors enjoying the warm sunshine and crisp fall air. The day will feature pumpkin painting, face and henna painting, crafts, a children’s bouncy house, games, a fire truck, an ambulance, a State Trooper, touch-a-tractor, local dance groups, the Orange County Sports Club, Karate Quest, ShopRite, ToysRUs, other organizations and numerous other activities.
Attendees can purchase food from various vendors and ice cream from Dairy O. The event will be held at the pavilion and the fields of the Pine Island Park where guests may also visit the park’s Butterfly Garden and playground area, complete with swings, slides and a play pirate ship.
First Annual Pine Island Pumpkinfest Princess Pageant
The day will also feature the first annual Pine Island Pumpkinfest Princess Pageant.
