The Greenwood Lake Public Library, located at 79 Waterstone Rd. in Greenwood Lake NY, welcomes puppeteer Ann Legunn on Sat., Apr. 14 as she entertains and teaches two programs for children.
The first session, held from 11 a.m. to 12 noon is a performance of “14 Carrots.” This show is for ages two to nine years old (seven and under must be accompanied by an adult).
Inspired by the art of the pop-up book, “14 Carrots” is the story of Aunt Swelly, a mature rabbit, trying to enter the job market after years of babysitting. The show promises to be filled with visual surprises, puppets and audience participation.
The second session, which is an Art and Acting Workshop, will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. for ages 10-17. This one hour workshop will begin with participants creating a wooden rod puppet of their own using an abundant supply of materials. Ann will then teach basic puppet acting and theatre improv to create a presentation using the new puppet.
Advanced registration is required for both programs by calling 477-8377, ext. 101, or by visiting www.gwllibrary.org.
