The Greenwood Lake Skatepark Corp. will host its second annual “Do it for Dale Summer Concert” on Sun., Aug. 5 from 6:30 to 11 p.m. at the Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park, located at 7 Winderemere Ave. in Greenwood lake. Proceeds from the concert will go to raise funds and awareness for building a professional concrete flowpark-style skatepark in the Village of Greenwood Lake.
The concert will feature a range of bands and music types and is being organized for the second year in a row by Colleen O’Brien, a former classmate of Dale Hirrel, a teenager who died in a car accident. The skatepark is being built in his memory. Dale was a popular local youth who loved skateboarding and always dreamed of having a local skatepark.
GWL Skatepark Corp. is a fully registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to raising the $300,000 funds required to build the proposed skatepark. It will be designed to provide a safe, fun and controlled environment for skateboarding, inline skating, scootering, and/or bmx riders of all ages to practice their sport and socialize with like-minded enthusiasts and their families.
