The Greenwood Lake Public Library, located at 79 Waterstone Rd. in Greenwood Lake, will present a Veterans Day concert on Sat., Nov. 11 from 1 to 2 p.m. Singer/songwriter/guitarist Wolf Critton and his collaborator, drummer Mike Colonna will commemorate Veteran’s Day with a variety of rock and blues.
Critton, a U.S. Army Veteran, has received no formal musical training. He was serving in Iraq when he first picked up at guitar approximately seven years ago. His first guitar was given to him by a friend who was later killed in Iraq.
Growing up in Harlem, his mom was a choir singer while his dad was interested in rock and roll. He had a hip-hop sensibility in his youth but his experience in the military eventually led him towards playing rock and blues. It was a sound that connected with his experiences overseas.
Mike Colonna grew up in Carmel, NY and studied at the Connecticut Institute of Art. He is currently the owner of Mike Colonna Design. Mike will start his day at his couch playing the drums, sharing the commitment with Wolf for practicing and honing their skills.
