The Warwick Children’s Book Festival, a free event open to the public, will be held on Sat., Oct. 7 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Railroad Ave. in Warwick. In the event of rain, the Festival will be held at the Warwick Valley Middle School, located at 225 West St. in Warwick from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ample parking is available at the school.
Over 60 distinguished authors and illustrators of books for children and teens will gather to meet readers and autograph their books, which will be available for purchase on-site. The Uncle Brothers will present a free concert on Railroad Green at 12 noon. There will also be activities for children such as crafts, sign language storytime and the opportunity to read to a trained therapy dog.
The Warwick Children’s Book Festival is an annual event presented by Albert Wisner Public Library. It is sponsored by Glenn P. and Susan D. Dickes, generous and longtime benefactors of the Library, with additional support from the Village of Warwick, the Warwick Farmers’ Market and ShopRite of Warwick. Tom Roberts, the proprietor of Ye Olde Warwick Book Shoppe, is the bookseller for the event.
