“In what year did Warwick get its first Hospital?” A) 1939, B) 1875 or C) 1916. The answer to this question is C) 1916. This is one example of a multiple choice question that will be asked at the upcoming Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce 78th anniversary membership celebration themed, “Let’s Ask Warwick – The Chamber Challenge,” on Sat, Nov. 18 at the Warwick Valley Country Club, located at 46 Oakland Ave. in Warwick.
The Warwick Valley Country Club will be transformed into a TV game show set. The night kicks off with cocktails and appetizers beginning at 6 p.m. and a heavy buffet (cash bar available). “Let’s Ask Warwick” is being designed to mimic the format of the popular TV game show ‘Jeopardy.’ Warwick Town Supervisor Michael Sweeton will take the stage to help MC the trivia bowl event when thirty-six lucky guests will have a chance to participate as contestants in a selection done by lottery.
Awards to be Presented
Each year at the event, the Chamber also presents awards to its most outstanding members for their accomplishments. This year’s award recipients are Mayor Michael Newhard for Special Recognition; the late Debbie Iurato, former owner of Peck’s Wine & Spirits in memoriam for her Commitment to Community; and John Redman, owner of Union Square Group for Most Valuable Person. ShopRite of Warwick, Frazzleberries Country Store, Leo Kaytes Ford, Bellvale Farms Creamery, and Cove Castle will receive Renovation Awards; and Capelli Salon Spa Boutique for Creative Repurposing.
Tickets cost $85 per person. To make a reservation, contact the Chamber office at 986-2720 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
