The Albert Wisner Public Library, located at 1 McFarland Dr. in Warwick NY, will sponsor an introduction to Nonviolent Communication (NVC) on Sat., Apr. 7 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
NVC, or compassionate communication, is a new generation of human connection and peacemaking skills, developed by psychologist Marshall Rosenberg that is changing the way we think about conflict. NVC has been used internationally in political peacemaking efforts, and is the only communication skills training and practice that spans the globe.
This introduction was offered in September and this provides another opportunity to learn about NVC. Learn about this transformative practice, which is for anyone looking to improve their relationships with themselves and others – parents, couples, your place of work, your community, or if you are distressed by the divisive tone of some of the public and private conversations. The workshop will be facilitated by a certified NVC trainer, will cover basic concepts and practices, and will include open question and answer segments as well as an experiential exercise.
To register for this free workshop, call the library at 986-1047, ext. 3 or register online at www.albertwisnerlibrary.org.
