Visiting the Albert Wisner Public Library in Warwick is now easier and safer since the addition of 58 parking spaces, for a total of 117, including five handicapped spots. The project, funded in part with NYS Public Library Construction Grant funds, is the Library Board’s response to the growing need for parking since the Library opened in November of 2009. The new parking spaces will provide safe access to the Library for popular programs and services, eliminating the need for parking along McFarland Dr.
A fully accessible patio and performance area with outside seating, as well as a pathway with solar lighting leading to Memorial Park, are being completed. Both will be open to the public in the spring of 2018. This new area will include tables and umbrellas provided by the Library Foundation for use when the area is not being used for Library programs and performances.
The project was completed through a partnership between the Library and the Village of Warwick. Rules for the use of the parking lot will be established by the Village and posted in the lot.
