Members of the Warwick Actors Training School will present “Falling and Rising” at the Albert Wisner Public Library, located at 1 McFarland Dr. in Warwick, on Mon., Jun. 12 at 5:30 p.m. The Play is comprised of scenes depicting the oppressed and brilliantly resilient young women found in the writings of William Shakespeare.
These nine rambunctious scenes are performed by a teen ensemble under the direction of Donna Haley. Live through the struggles and social rigors that suppress and seem to trap the teens in Shakespeare’s plays. Do they rise above them, like Rosalind in “As You Like It” and Beatrice in “Much Ado About Nothing?” Or do they succumb to them, like Ophelia in “Hamlet” and Juliet in “Romeo and Juliet?” Share in the wit and fun that can turn the tables of freedom for Shakespeare’s heroines.
The program is free and open to the public. To register for a seat call 986-1047, ext. 5 or register online at www.albertwisnerlibrary.org.
