The non-profit Hope Chest Thrift Boutique, located at 20 Schoolhouse Rd. in Pine Island, will open their new Fashion Floor, specializing in gently used prom, formal wear, party dresses and men’s suits, just in time for prom season. The grand opening will be held on Sat., Mar. 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tea and cupcakes will be served and shoppers will have the opportunity to meet NYC designer and stylist Janice Brigante to learn about updating and repurposing dresses. Special fittings will be available to shoppers.
“Two Warwick High School juniors, Olivia O’Conner and Morgan Sirota, introduced the idea of the community working together to recycle these beautiful worn-once gowns,” said Sharon Scott, director of the Clothing Closet. “They are very excited about this project and we are so happy to have them working with us.”
The Fashion Floor will be open every Thursday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Prices range from $10 to $30 and proceeds will benefit the Clothing Closet, Warwick’s free clothing bank. Men’s suits as well as event wear for women and children will also be available.
