Emily Carwile, 36, of Vernon, NJ and Jessica Dussault, 30, of Hopatcong, NJ, died in a car accident on Sat., Nov. 4 around 7:30 p.m. The two women, who were pronounced dead at the scene, were passengers in a 2015 BMW convertible driven by Christopher Perrella, 32, of Vernon, NJ.
According to Warwick Police Lt. Thomas Maslanka, the vehicle had rolled over and the passenger door was resting on an unoccupied home at 420 Glenwood Rd. in Pine Island. The driver was extricated from the vehicle by the Pine Island Fire Department and flown by helicopter to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY.
Another passenger, Joseph Giordano, 32, of Columbia, NJ, was taken by the Pine Island Ambulance to Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. The extent of the injuries sustained by both Giordano and Perrella are unknown as of press time.
The accident is being investigated by the Warwick Police Department in conjunction with the NYS Police Accident Reconstruction Team and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
