Florida Mayor Harter: Use Caution While Driving in the Mornings
Hello Florida,
The weather has certainly changed and it finally feels like fall! The cooler air is a much-needed shift from the warm humid extended summer we’ve been having. There was a lot going on in Florida over the weekend, S.S. Seward had its homecoming parade, game and athletic hall of fame induction ceremony. The rain clouds cooperated enough so that the community had a great time, congratulations to all the new hall of fame inductees!
With the days growing shorter in the coming months I’d like to remind everyone to use caution while driving in the mornings. Our DPW workers are out very early picking up our garbage and recyclables during the week in the dark. Being a bit more diligent while driving will help keep our DPW workers safer and allow them to effectively do their job.
The DPW will also be flushing fire hydrants around the Village next week as a standard water maintenance procedure.
The above column, written by Village of Florida Mayor Daniel Harter, Jr., has been published in the Oct. 17 ssue of the Warwick Valley Dispatch.
