Catholic Charities Community Services of Orange and Sullivan will be hosting a free Narcan training for community members on Wed., Jan. 31 at 6 p.m. The training will be held at the not-for-profit human service agency’s Goshen Clinic location at 27 Matthews St. The Narcan training is available at no cost and is recommended for parents and other loved ones, as well as anyone closely associated with an individual suffering with a heroin/prescription opioid addiction.
Narcan, also known as naloxone, is an anti-overdose medication that inhibits the effect of a heroin/opioid overdose. It can be administered via injection or nasal spray by a lay person who has received training to carry a Narcan prescription. Space is limited for the free training program and pre-registration is required. To register, call Sally Milosevic at 294-5124, ext. 320.
