The Greenwood Lake Fire Department (GLFD) will be hosting the 103rd annual Orange County Volunteer Fireman’s Association parade on Sat., Sept. 22. The GLFD will also be celebrating 95 years of service to the Village of Greenwood Lake.
The parade, which is anticipated to be three hours long, will lineup at 1 p.m. on Teneyck Ave. and step off at 2 p.m. The parade route is as follows: from Teneyck Ave. to Sterling Rd. then turning right onto Waterstone Rd., right on Linden Ave., left on Willow Ln. then left on Windermere Ave. where it will continue down Windermere Ave. to the Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park.
At the Waterfront Park there will be music, light refreshments, and an awards presentation. All residents and businesses are welcome to participate in the day’s events. In addition, everyone is encouraged to decorate their storefronts and houses and host family and friends to watch the parade.
There will be absolutely no street parking allowed starting Fri. evening on Sept. 21 on the roads mentioned above as well as the roads in Windermere Park and in the area of the Town beach. There will be numerous road closures throughout the day. Teneyck Ave. and Waterstone Rd. will close from approximately 1:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Windermere Ave. will close from approximately 2:30 p.m. to 5 pm. Once the parade is completed, all roads will open back up for normal traffic.
