Interim Superintendent of Schools Dr. Steven Cohen and the Greenwood Lake Board of Education announces the appointment of Jeff Golubchick as principal of the Greenwood Lake Middle School. Golubchick replaces Matthew Lawrence, who left the district to accept a high school principal position in Putnam County.
Following a comprehensive search and interview process that included students, parents, and staff members, Golubchick was selected based on his strong personal and professional characteristics. During his interviews, he demonstrated extensive knowledge in Reading and Writing Workshops and Singapore Math, both of which are core to the G.L. instructional program. In addition, Golubchick comes with high praise for his communication with parents and parent involvement.
Golubchick has worked as an elementary teacher, a special education teacher and a Response to Intervention teacher for kindergarten through eighth grade. He has also served as an assistant principal and principal, as well as a district director of elementary humanities.
A graduate of Brooklyn College’s Educational Leadership program, Golubchick also earned a Masters Degree in education from Hunter College, a Masters Degree from Carnegie Mellon University and a BA from Washington University in St. Louis, MO.
