Greenwood Lake Celebrates New Theater
The Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce joined the Greenwood Lake Theater for a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tues., Jul. 25. The G.L. Theater has officially moved to Orange County.
The theater began as Mercia Entertainment in NYC in 2011 and in 2013 they were awarded non-profit status. Once the company moved to Greenwood Lake they expanded their staff, produced a musical locally, and officially renamed the company the Greenwood Lake Theater.
Their first offering in Orange County was in the summer of 2016 when they presented a professional production of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” at the Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park in Greenwood Lake.
This summer the company presented five performances of “The Wizard of Oz” at the Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park, located on Windermere Ave. in Greenwood Lake.
