Anne Marie’s Deli, located at 1398 Kings Hwy. in Sugar Loaf, will be the collection site for the Fifth Annual “Toys for Tots” on Sat., Dec. 4 from 2 to 2:45 p.m. Donations of new, unwrapped toys are needed. Also on Sat., Dec. 4, the Youth Ballet Company of the Hudson Valley Dance Center of Warwick will present a performance of “The Nutcracker” at 2 p.m. at the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center, located at 1351 Kings Hwy. in Sugar Loaf. This production will feature young professionals from around the county as well as local students. Tickets are $17 for adults, $12 for children five and older, and $6 for children under 5. The Sugar Loaf Community Foundation will host their annual Holiday Celebration on Sat., Dec. 10 throughout the hamlet. This event is free for the community. Santa will be available for pictures from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center prior to the horse and wagon rides. Local artwork will be on display, there will be a raffle, and a hot chocolate bar will be set up.
Horse and wagon rides with Santa on board will be offered from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Children can meet Santa at 3:45 p.m. at the Sugar Loaf United Methodist Church, where refreshments and crafts for sale will be available all day. The tree in front of the church will be lit at 4:45 p.m.
Throughout the day there will be live music in front of the United Methodist Church. The Warwick Valley Chorale will sing from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., The Warwick Valley High School Women’s Choir will perform from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. the WVHS Meistersingers will offer holiday music and the Jubilate Warwick Youth Choir will round out the musical offerings from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m.
