Orange County Land Trust (OCLT) will honor William Brown and Barbara Felton of Lowland Farm in Warwick at their 2017 Annual Benefit Reception and Auction on Fri., Jun. 2 at the Falkirk Estate and Country Club, located at 206 Smith Clove Rd. in Central Valley, NY.
According to Land Trust Executive Director Jim Delaune, “Will and Barbara will be honored for their commitment to farmland protection, public access to nature, and agriculture as a vibrant and valuable part of Orange County’s economy and heritage.”
The Benefit Chair for this year’s fundraising event is the Ralph E. Ogden Foundation, which was honored by the Land Trust last year for their longtime support of conservation and their work in launching the Chester Agricultural Center.
Will Brown and Barbara Felton have owned Lowland Farm since 1985. In 2007, the 293-acre farm was permanently protected under Warwick’s Purchase of Development Rights Program, in cooperation with Orange County, Scenic Hudson and Orange County Land Trust. The Farm utilizes sustainable grazing methods to raise 100% grass fed and grass finished beef and lamb, as well as pasture raised pork, which are allowed to forage naturally in the farm’s woodlands. Will has been an active Board member of the Orange County Land Trust since 2011.
The reception will feature cocktail style dining, and a silent auction of unique experiences, services and items from the Hudson Valley, as well as an exciting raffle. Tickets are $175 each, and are available for purchase online at www.oclt.org or by calling the Land Trust at 534-3690. For more information, visit www.oclt.org.
