Warwick High School is proud to select junior Matt Hansen as this weeks’ Bill Garcia Allstate Student-Athlete of the Week.
The junior three-sport standout is the two-time Section 9 Division II Alpine Ski Champion and team captain. He competed in his second NYSPHSAA State Ski Championship this winter at Bristol Mountain in Canandaigua, NY. The three-sport standout is a key contributor to the Division Champion football team as a linebacker and is the varsity lacrosse teams face off specialist (all of this as a member of the junior class).
Matt is one of Warwick’s top student–athletes with a weighted average of over 104 and he is currently ranked in the top 3% of his class of 335. Matt is a member of Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, the Chamber Orchestra and he is a candidate for the Warwick High School National Honor Society.
He plans to major in engineering two years from now. He is enrolled in AP Chemistry, OCCC Algebra/Trigonometry, AP US History, and AP Language and Composition (all for college credit). Matt is a three-year scholar–athlete, recognized by the NYSPHSAA for an average of 90 or better in all three seasons.
Matt is the son of Scott and Hillary Hansen, of Warwick NY. His brother, Christopher, is a freshman at the high school and his sister, Hallie, attends the Warwick Middle School.
