John Creagh, of Warwick, will be open his art studio to guests as part of the Orange County Arts Council Open Studio Weekend, to be held on Sat., Jun. 3 and Sun., Jun. 4. Visitors will be able to view his paintings, as well as watch a painting demonstration and enter into a raffle for an original watercolor painting. The studio, which is located just outside of the Village of Sugar loaf, will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.
Creagh will be showcasing an array of his work, including both oil and watercolor paintings of the Hudson Valley, as well as of New York City, Ireland, Italy and other sites. Creagh paints en Plein Air, often putting finishing touches on these outdoor paintings in his studio. He will also be displaying a selection of original still lifes.
Creagh is an adjunct Professor at the Westchester Community College Art Workshop, teaches painting at Rockland Center for the Arts, and has also taught at the Pelham Art Center and Wallkill River School and has served as the instructor at many painting workshops.
