Pine Bush Artist Donates His Talent
The Amity Foundation for Healing with Horses, located in Warwick, is honored to announce that Orange County Artist Gene Bove of Pine Bush, NY, will lend his talent to the Foundation’s “Help a Horse, Help a Human” promotional campaign.
Formerly an advertising executive on Madison Avenue at the prestigious firm of BBDO, Bove’s skills also helped launched BBG&G Advertising here in the region. He is a founder of the Wallkill River Art School and Gallery, located at 232 Ward St. in Montgomery, where he is an instructor and frequently has exhibited his works.
Known for his en-plein air oil paintings of local farms and landscapes, he is also an accomplished cartoonist as his work on this campaign readily reveals. The Foundation needs to raise significant funds so that people who have experienced trauma can be helped to recognize its debilitating effects and address them in a safe, supportive environment, all in the company of dedicated horses. In addition to individual sessions, the Foundation has hosted numerous workshops for veterans and their spouses, adolescents with self-esteem issues and more.
A Derby Day Fundraising Event is planned for Sat., May 6 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the barn, located at 44 Amity Rd. in Warwick. For more information visit call 224-6258, send an email to theamityfoundation.org or visit www.theamityfoundation.org.
