Pine Island hosted their annual Memorial Day Parade on Mon., May 28. Filled with music from the Warwick Valley High School Band and sponsored by the Polish Legion of American Veterans Memorial Post #16, the parade gave the hamlet of Pine Island a sense of pride in country on Memorial Day.
Following a Mass at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, members of the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America, along with the Warwick Police Department and the Pine Island Fire Department paraded down Pulaski Hwy. and Pine Island Tpke. They were joined by members of the Town Board, including Warwick Town Supervisor Michael Sweeton.
Following the parade there was a service at the St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Pine Island joined communities throughout the country to honor and remember soldiers who have died in the service of this nation.
