Sabrina Rice donated zippered cosmetics bags to Todd van Minter of Orange County Safe Homes as part of her Girl Scout Gold Award Project. Sabrina, from Girl Scout Troop 756, held a workshop to help build self-esteem and confidence for young teen girls called “A Beautiful You.” The workshop was held at the end of May at the Warwick Valley Community Center.
Sabrina received many donations, including three dozen zippered cosmetics bags from Three Cheers for Girls in Florida, NY, to give to the girls who attended the workshop. Afterwards she decided to donate the left over bags to Safe Homes of Orange County, a service for victims of domestic violence, in order to help other girls living in a bad situation. Sabrina said she wanted to give the girls something to make them smile at a time that they might not have much to smile about.
