Shop at Local Farmers’ Markets for Thanksgiving
Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus reminds residents that local farmers’ markets in Orange County will open to help everyone prepare for their Thanksgiving dinners. The Warwick Farmers’ Market will be open on Sun., Nov. 20 and the Florida Farmers’ Market will be open on Tues., Nov. 22.
Late season crops include root vegetables, such as potatoes and yams, beets, winter squash and cold weather greens, including collards, kale, and Brussels sprouts. Cheese, wines and ciders, honey, jams and jellies, mushrooms, apples, meats, eggs, poultry and baked goods will also be available.
“Purchasing locally from any of our farmers’ markets is a wonderful way to support our farming community,” said Neuhaus. “When you buy from a local farmer, you know you are receiving fresh, high-quality produce. I hope residents will continue to support our local farm stands and markets.”
