Solo Cello Recital at Pacem in Terris
Cellist Loretta O’Sullivan will perform at Pacem in Terris, located at 96 Covered Bridge Rd. in Warwick, on Sun., Jun. 11 at 5 p.m. The program will include music from the 18th century such as Guiseppe Maria Dall’Abaco’s (1710-1805) Caprice for solo violoncello no. 8 in G major, no. 2 in G minor, no. 4 in D minor, and no. 5 in B flat major.
During his long life, Dall’Abaco composed as many as forty sonatas and eleven caprices for solo cello. Each caprice explores a technical element of cello playing and provides musical delight.
