The very popular Grappa Ristorante, located at 22 Railroad Ave. in Warwick, reopened its doors after two months of renovations and repairs due to the early morning fire on Apr. 12 that started inside of the old location of La Piazza Wine Bar at 24 Railroad Ave.
The fire, believed to have been electrical, caused a substantial amount of damage to both Grappa Ristorante and the FriYo Yogurt Cafe, located below Grappa and next door to the old Wine Bar. In addition, the new La Piazza and the Warwick Valley Olive Oil Company were closed for clean-up and structural repairs due to smoke damage.
FriYo Yogurt Cafe and Fine Chocolates, located at 26 Railroad Ave., is expected to open within a few weeks.
“FríYo is still under construction from fire damage until further notice. We miss our friends and customers. We hope to be open as soon as possible,” said Frances Bachmann, owner of Friyo.
On Mon., Jun. 5, Grappa officially reopened its doors and is once again taking reservations. Outdoor seating resumed on Thurs., Jun. 8, along with the Grand reopening of La Piazza Wine Bar on Fri., Jun. 9 and the Warwick Valley Olive Oil Company, which also reopened for business on Sat., Jun. 10.
The week kicked off the restaurant’s summer music series which will be every Mon. from 6:30 to 9 p.m., Thurs. from 7 to 9:30 p.m., and Sun. from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
