Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney invites Hudson Valley high school artists to submit their work to his office for the 2018 Congressional Art Competition. The competition is open to high school students but exceptions may be made for schools that have grades seventh through 12 on one campus.
The winning piece will be chosen by a panel of local judges in the Hudson Valley. Additionally, all pieces submitted will be posted on Rep. Maloney’s Facebook page for a period of one week starting on Mon., Apr. 23 and the work with the most “likes” will receive a separate award as the social media champion.
All participants will be recognized at a reception hosted by Rep. Maloney this spring. His office will accept artwork until Fri., Apr. 20. The winning candidate will be announced at an awards ceremony in the Hudson Valley this spring and also honored in Washington, D.C. in June.
All entries must be framed, and a student information and release form should be dropped off to Rep. Maloney’s Newburgh Office, located at 123 Grand St. in Newburgh, NY. For more information, contact Maria Ingrassia at 561-1259 or send an email to Maria.Ingrassia@mail.house.gov.
