It is that time again for senior citizens in our Town to get their tickets to our annual Senior BBQ to be held this year on Tues., Aug. 28. This event is FREE to any senior citizen residing in the Town of Warwick, thanks to the generous donations of so many community service organizations, our veterans’ groups, the Warwick Valley Rotary and the support of many volunteers. Our seniors will be served lunch prepared by Fetch Executive Chef, Paul Karas, and a complete chicken dinner, prepared by local chef, Mike Coleman, of Mike’s Custom BBQ. A fun-filled day kicks off at 11 a.m. at Union Corners Park. This event is free to any senior citizen in our Town, but you do need a ticket which can be obtained through one of our seven senior citizen organizations or by stopping by the Supervisor’s office in the Warwick Town Hall, Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Mark your calendars, and don’t miss this opportunity to have your community say thanks for all you have done to make this a great place to live.
Hopefully, visitors to Town Hall appreciate the beautiful flower displays as much as we do. Thank you to the dedicated volunteers of the Warwick Valley Gardeners who lovingly planted the flowers but also care for them week in and week out. This is not their only display, as they plant and maintain most public gardens throughout the Town. Thank you also to Warwick In Bloom for the spectacular pots and hanging baskets in the Village of Warwick. A visual delight indeed!
The Town Board declared August as “Backpack Snack Attack Back-To-School Month” in the Town of Warwick. Backpack Snack Attack is a not-for-profit outreach program of the Warwick Reformed Church that provides food on weekends and during the summer to needy children in the Town of Warwick public schools. This is a vital service that grows each year with support from the citizens of our Town. Please be generous in your support this August and throughout the year; it is much appreciated.
The next regular meeting of the Warwick Town Board will be held on Thurs., Aug. 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Warwick Town Hall, located at 132 Kings Hwy. in Warwick NY.
