Our Villages are all decked out in their holiday finery and are ready for this festive season. The tree is lit at the Old School Baptist Church in the Village of Warwick, thanks to the Warwick Fire Department. It should also be noted that the old fashioned lanterns have been dressed so nicely with fresh greens, courtesy of Warwick in Bloom, with some assistance from the Village DPW. Well done! The Warwick Valley Gardeners’ have brought Christmas to the Railroad Green, and we thank them for that as well.
The Village of Florida kicks off the season when Santa arrives to light the tree at Village Hall at 4 p.m. on Fri., Dec. 1. Florida merchants are decked out as well to welcome shoppers. The beautiful Village of Greenwood Lake holds their kick-off on Sat., Dec. 2, with the 4th Annual Holiday Festival, which concludes with Santa lighting the beautiful Christmas tree, serenaded by the school’s chorus. You’ll be filled with the Christmas spirit for sure!
The Town Board approved a Town Hall lighting upgrade through Orange & Rockland Utilities’ small business program. Orange & Rockland pays 69% of the upgrade costs, and the Town’s cost is recouped in 6.9 months through energy savings! A smart investment both financially and environmentally.
The next regular meeting of the Town Board will be held on Thurs., Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the Warwick Town Hall, located at 132 Kings Hwy. in Warwick.
