Hopefully everyone has safely survived our first snowfall of the year and were able to dust off those forgotten winter skills. Driving more carefully if travel is essential, having emergency supplies on hand for power interruptions and pacing yourself while clearing snow are all good practices to keep in mind. The following snow regulations for Town residents are as follows: The parking of vehicles is hereby prohibited on all highways and other public property of the Town at any time during inclement winter weather from Nov. 1 through Apr. 1 of the succeeding year. Vehicles in violation of this article will be towed at the owner’s expense.
Any property owner who fails to remove snow and/or ice from sidewalks adjoining his property within 24 hours after a snowfall and any person who throws, shovels, plows or places snow or ice onto a public street, highway or right-of-way shall be guilty of a violation and subject to a fine not exceeding $250 or by imprisonment for a term not exceeding 15 days, or by both said fine and imprisonment.
The Town Board would like to thank Eagle Scout candidate, Alex Brand, for the beautiful new boat dock and parking area refurbishment he completed at the Wickham Lake boat launch off of Airport Road. Alex, with help from fellow scouts and his scout leaders have provided the Town residents with another great recreation asset. Alex is an outstanding young man with a bright future. Thank you, Alex!
The next regular meeting of the Town Board will be held on Thurs., Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the Warwick Town Hall, located at 132 Kings Hwy. in Warwick.
