I would like to congratulate and thank Mayor Jim Pawliczek for his many years of service to the Village of Florida, as well as the Town of Warwick. I enjoyed working with Jim on many efforts to improve our community and came to consider him a good friend. I wish him well in his retirement.

National Volunteer Week will run this year from Apr. 15 to Apr. 21. Orange County has scheduled the 2018 Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event for municipalities, schools, farms and businesses. Registration is required. The event will be held at the Thomas Bull Memorial Park, 90 Grove St., Montgomery, NY on Fri., Apr. 13.
The Household Hazardous Waste Event for residents is scheduled for Sat. Apr. 14 at the Thomas Bull Memorial Park from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The line moved quickly; please do not come before 9 a.m. and block traffic flow. No registration is required. Proof of Orange County residency is required. There is no cost to residents.
