An adorable five-month-old chocolate Labrador visited the Goodwill Hook and Ladder firehouse on Thurs., Jun. 7 to receive the necessary training needed for the dogs to be exposed to different sounds and surroundings before ultimately becoming a guide dog for a blind or visually impaired person. The Seeing Eye Puppy Raising Program brought the pups who are training to become guide dogs who will eventually help blind and visually impaired people around obstacles and assist them with everyday life challenges. The dogs visited the Firehouse with their puppy raisers, Chris Reddan and Shari Sparovich, as part of their training to help expose them to different surroundings and sounds. The organization is always looking for puppy raisers and all costs in raising the pups are paid. For additional information on becoming a puppy raiser or to make a donation, visit www.seeingeye.org.
