A public hearing will be held on the Town of Warwick Preliminary and Special District budgets on Thurs., Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. The hearing will be held prior to the regular Town Board meeting in the Warwick Town Hall, located at 132 Kings Hwy., Warwick. The budget can be viewed on the Town’s website – www.townofwarwick.org.
In the “Supervisor’s Corner,” published in the Nov. 16 issue of the Warwick Valley Dispatch, Town Supervisor Michael Sweeton wrote: “The preliminary budget for 2017 will result in a slight decrease in the Town tax bill of about $4 for the average home in the Villages of Greenwood Lake and Florida. Town residents outside these villages and Village of Warwick residents will see about a $30 increase for the average home, due almost entirely to an increase in payroll costs for police (Town and Village) and highway (Town only) services. It is the Town Board’s belief that further reductions of these costs would severely hamper our ability to provide these critical services.”
All Warwick residents are encouraged to attend the public hearing and Board meeting.
