Boy Scout Troop 121 from Greenwood Lake held a scout skills weekend at Camp Hartman in Greenwood Lake. The camp is named after Harold Hartman, the Troop’s Charter representative who has given more than 30 years to scouting in Greenwood Lake.
The Troop used the weekend as an opportunity to begin building a relationship with the Cub Scouts, some as young as six years old and to show the younger boys the skills they’ve learned as Boy Scouts.
Some of the skills the scouts taught to the younger children were Tomahawk throwing, bow and arrow, fire building, cooking and camping. They also played volleyball and football.
The Troop is led by Scoutmaster Rich Brennan, Committee Chair Robbie Jacobs, and Assistant Scoutmasters and committee members – Marty Hickey, Kevin McNeilly, Tommy Holder, Joe Minns, Steve Butfilowski, Adam Hammel, Beth Becher, Karen Minns and many more.
Troop 121 currently has 54 scouts and is growing. For those who would like to join the Troop call Robbie Jacobs at 499-7888 or send an email to robbie@pbi-USA.com.
