A certificate of recognition was presented to Trustee George McManus at the Village of Warwick Board meeting on Tues., Oct. 4 on behalf of the Village. The proclamation was read by Deputy Mayor Barry Cheney, who presided over the meeting in the absence of Mayor Michael Newhard. Also not present was Trustee Bill Lindberg.
The Village acknowledged McManus as the recipient of the Hudson Valley Heroes Volunteer Award which he received on Thurs., Sept. 29. McManus was nominated for this award by the Warwick Valley Coalition for his dedication to the Prevention Resource Center of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Council.
The Board also scheduled a public hearing regarding a request for a Special Use Permit Renewal for the cell phone antennas, located on the building of St. Anthony Community Hospital. The antennas are owned by New Cingular Wireless PCS, LLC which is also known as AT&T. The hearing will be held on Mon., Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Village Hall.
