Village Creates Adopt-A-Road Program
The Village Board of Trustees finalized the necessary permit paperwork for an Adopt-A-Road program for the Village of Warwick. Several months ago, a Boy Scout troop approached the Board about adopting Forester Ave. for clean-up. The Board did not have an official policy or permit procedure in place and began work to bring the program to the Village.
Using the existing Town of Warwick’s permit paperwork as a guide, the Village created its own permit procedure to officially launch the program. The permits and paperwork required include an application for the particular road or street and a Volunteer Group Agreement and Code of Conduct, and a Volunteer Informed Consent/Release. Those who adopt a road must also abide by safety rules outlined in the permit process.
Applications and other permit information are available in Village Hall. For more information, contact the Village of Warwick Clerk by calling 986-2031.
